A Warm Welcome
From our Headteacher
Phill Quirk, Headteacher
Welcome to Co-op Academy Failsworth. It is a privilege to serve the Academy as Headteacher. My staff and I truly believe Co-op Academy Failsworth is unique in its care and support for pupils and the quality of learning experiences we can provide. We are very proud of being part of the Co-op Academies Trust and we feel the strong co-operative ethos this provides is a perfect fit for our Academy. We have adopted the Co-op ways of being as a guide for life in the Academy.
Please see attached our Winter Newsletter 2024. On behalf of all of us at Co-op Academy Failsworth, we wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

The school and trust have high expectations of pupils’ achievement. The school includes everyone.
The curriculum considers pupils’ needs and interests. Pupils are able to study for a range of appropriate qualifications. Pupils’ achievement is improving year-on-year.
The curriculum is ambitious for all pupils, including those with SEND. Subject curriculums are well designed. The ‘powerful knowledge’ that the school wants pupils to learn is clearly identified. Subject content is introduced in a logical order so that pupils build their knowledge over time.
Many pupils value the vast range of extra-curricular activities that are available to them. For instance, pupils enjoy attending clubs such as badminton, drama and rock band. Through these clubs, pupils strengthen their sporting skills, team-working abilities and musical talents.
