We hosted a charity football match on Wednesday, 23rd November 2022 in aid of our Community Fridge.
Over 100 of our students turned up to watch and support.
With a 2-2 draw, everyone had a great time.
We managed to raise over £150 towards our Community Fridge to keep us stocked in the run-up to Christmas!
Our Community Fridge is open Monday – Friday, 2pm – 5pm if you need support!
It’s that time of year again…
Co-op Academy Failsworth presents its annual Christmas Concert on 14th December 2022 at 7pm!

The Breakfast Club is where all students can come in early in the morning to get a free breakfast or to get in out of the rain and have a chat with their friends.
It is run every day from 7:45 to 8:10.
We serve bagels, toast and cereal. We also have butter, chocolate spread, milk and juice available too.
All students are welcome and it is all for free.
Our Community Fridge is a place where anyone can come and get free food/hygiene products who are struggling to afford the basics. Similar to a foodbank, however we do not require any token or voucher or proof of income to use it. We rely on donations from our staff and students, as well as external donations from the public and businesses. Anyone can donate and anyone can use the Community Fridge

There will be white signs outside directing where to go and it is the large green container on the left.
If there is no staff in the fridge, please ring the number that will be put on the door of the Community Fridge and a staff member will be with you shortly. This is because it is run by the Sports Campus staff who are also doing other duties, but will be happy to help if you need anything. If you can, please bring your own bag. However, if you don’t have one we do have some spare.
If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact Jack Ryan, Community Engagement Officer, on 0161 688 3909 or the Sports Campus on 0161 688 3926.
Thanks for using Failsworth Community Fridge!
It was so great to see our Year 11s again as they collected their GCSE results on Thursday 25th August.
They were the first year group to sit full examinations after the COVID pandemic. We were so proud of all our students who didn’t let this get in their way and went on to achieve amazing results this summer.
This year’s record results prove that their hard work and dedication had paid off. They have been a model cohort and we wish them all the best of luck in their future studies in A-Levels, College or apprenticeships.
Headteacher Phill Quirk said…
“We are very proud of the Class of 2022 for their record exam results. Congratulations to them for their hard work and we wish them well in their post-16 progress.”
As part of Pride Month, Manchester City and City in the Community have spent time learning more about our LGBTQ+ Club!
Our Pride Club was established at the beginning of the 2021/22 academic year, providing a social space for students who identify as LGBTQ+ or as allies.
The group has grown quickly from its inception with between 40 and 50 students attending weekly meetings discuss important people in the local community, their role models or talking points and issues affecting the LGBTQ+ community.
Keen to learn more about the group’s activities, City goalkeeper Scott Carson joined the group on a virtual call at the beginning of Pride Month – a worldwide celebration throughout June – to discuss what the group meant to each of its members.
We are excited to announce that this summer we will be running our school uniform exchange once again!
Since opening the exchange last summer we have found new homes for over 600 pieces of school uniform. This means we have prevented over 600 pieces of clothing going into landfill and managed to help some of our families reduce the cost of a new school uniform.
We are now beginning to collect items for this summer’s exchange. If you would like to donate any unwanted school uniforms in good condition to us please bring them into the main school reception, send them into school with your child or put them in our drop box at Morrisons, Poplar Street.
Items we need:
We hope everyone has an amazing half term and look forward to seeing you soon!
We have raised over £600 for DEC’s Ukrainian Appeal
This was raised through ribbon sales, cupcakes, sweet cones and jars, guess the teddy and other collections around schools.
Thank you to students, parents, carers and staff who supported the fundraising.
We’re very proud to stand with Co-op raising money for the incredibly brave civilians in Ukraine.
