Student Leadership

Our Student Leadership Programme runs across all year groups and provides opportunities for students to develop their leadership skills and creates a platform for students to participate in projects they are passionate about.

The transferable skills our students gain from leadership roles will nurture well rounded individuals, making a difference to the academy, community and beyond.

The Academy Student Leadership Team includes a whole student council, year group council and committee leaders. In addition to this students can also be prefects within year groups and year leaders. There are also Nationally accredited leadership qualifications that students can complete, such as Anti bullying Ambassadors programme and Wellbeing Ambassadors course.

For students in Key Stage 4 they can become peer mentors and Reader Leaders to help mentor and support students in Year 7,8 and 9.

Students on the Academy leadership Programme can apply to the Co-op Young Leaders programme where training will be delivered at set points in the year by the Trust. Students will have the opportunity to apply to become a leader within a committee that they feel most passionate about.

The programme is an opportunity for students to gain the knowledge, skills and ambition to help them improve communication between student, academy leaders, staff, governors and parents. Students will help promote an environment which supports educational and personal development whilst promoting friendship and respect among peers.

If you are interested in applying for a role please see your Head of Year for further information.
