How we deliver Technology

In KS3 all students have one lesson of Technology, this includes both Food and DT,per week.

In KS4 students who opt to study technology based subjects have 3 lessons per week of the qualifications we have on offer: Creative Design, Construction, Food Preparation and Nutrition.

Qualifications delivered by the Technology department:

• NCFE Creative Design
• WJEC GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition
• WJEC Award Constructing the Built Environment

Department Information

The Technology Team is a forward thinking dynamic department that focuses on excellence in terms of curriculum and pedagogy.

At Key Stage 3 the pupils experience a broad, progressive and stimulating curriculum where they are exposed to both design technology and food education. 

GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition, Creative Design, WJEC Level 2 Construction in the Built Environment. These options are very popular with students.

A range of co-curricular activities are offered including, Master Chef, cooking club, Homework Club, STEM club and engineering club.

We are a department of professionals that strive to achieve outstanding gains through dedication, commitment and drive for excellence through empowering our students with the knowledge of sustainable design, healthy lifestyles through food and nutrition and direct access to vocational based careers such as construction and engineering.
