Updated guidance: Living with Covid 19
I am writing to update you on the new guidance ‘living with covid’ announced by the Secretary of State, Sajid Javid on Tuesday 29 March. Please find below the update to the guidance which came into effect on 1st April:
- Children and young people who are unwell and have a high temperature should stay at home and avoid contact with other people. They can go back to school, college or childcare when they no longer have a high temperature, and they are well enough to attend.
- It is no longer a requirement for someone with a respiratory infection to do a test to confirm whether or not it is Covid-19. However, if you choose to test your son/daughter and the result is positive they should try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people for 3 days, which is when they are most infectious.
- You no longer need to return negative test results before coming back to the academy.
