Expressive Arts

How we deliver Expressive Arts

In KS3 all students have one lesson of Music, Drama and Art per week.

In KS4 students are able to opt for subjects within Expressive Arts, students have 3 lessons of Music, Art, Drama or Photography per week.
 
Qualifications delivered by the Expressive Arts department:

  • AQA GCSE Art
  • AQA GCSE Music
  • AQA GCSE Drama
  • AQA GCSE Photography

Department Information

The Expressive Arts Department is a forward looking, dynamic and talented department. There are presently 9 full-time and 1 part-time members of staff in the Expressive Arts Department who are expected to teach across the full age and ability range. Subjects taught range from Music, Drama, Art and Photography. 

The Department has a fantastic reputation in the local community and regularly takes part in festivals, concerts, musicals, art exhibitions and a whole host of competitions and projects to involve and cater for all our students.

At KS3 all students study music, art and drama each week. We have challenging and highly ambitious approaches to our curriculum and pedagogy and are committed to the cultural and artistic development of all our students. 

At KS4 All our subjects are extremely popular with high numbers of students regularly opting for these courses each year at GCSE level. 

We have a thriving co-curricular offer including: wind band, rock band, choir, drama club, art and photography clubs.
